Stewart claims the host began asking questions before abruptly rejecting her reservation. —— Afterward, she says she took a closer look at the listing and noticed it described the area as a “peaceful white neighborhood” with “no neighbors around.” Stewart has since filed a federal lawsuit against the host and Airbnb alleging racial discrimination. She claims the platform failed to act quickly after she reported the listing. —- Her attorney argues the wording used in the listing, along with the alleged rejection of her booking, raises serious concerns about discriminatory housing practices. The lawsuit also claims Airbnb allowed the listing to remain active for months after being notified of the alleged issue. —— Airbnb has since responded, stating that discrimination has no place on its platform and confirming that the host has been permanently removed.
