Neighbors, newly released surveillance video is shedding light on a gym assault involving fitness influencer Wes Watson.

The footage, obtained by NBC6, shows the December 2024 incident inside a Miami gym. According to police the victim confronted Watson before pushing him. Watson then responded by repeatedly striking the man with a weightlifting belt.

Police say Watson, along with several other men, then punched and kicked the victim multiple times while he was on the ground.

Police body camera footage also shows the victim with a swollen face and blood on his tank top. He told officers, “I came to the gym and he, like, they jumped me, two of the guys are hitting me with a weight and then he hit me with a belt, a weighted belt.”

The victim suffered a facial fracture, a concussion, and two black eyes.

Last week, Watson pleaded guilty to aggravated battery as part of a plea deal after claiming he acted in self-defense. As part of the agreement, he will serve prison time, undergo counseling, and must avoid drugs and alcohol.
