  • Emmett Till would have been 85 years old today.
But white supremacy stopped that from happening.
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
He bought some candy and said "Bye baby" on the way out of the store - but the white lady behind the counter - Carolyn Bryant - claimed he grabbed her, made lewd advances and wolf-whistled at her as he sauntered out.
A few days later - based solely on how a young black man responded to a fragile white woman - he was dragged from his bed in the darkness of the night, ridiculed, mocked, beaten, shot, tied to a 75 pound cotton-gin fan and thrown in to the Tallahatchie River.
All because of the way a young black child responded to a fragile white woman.
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It took an all-white jury only 67 minutes to acquit his killers. "We wouldn't have taken so long if we hadn't stopped to drink pop," they said.
All because of the way a young black child responded to a fragile white woman.
We're NOT far removed from this... if removed at all.
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
In 2017 Carolyn Bryant confessed that Till had never touched, threatened or harassed her. She made it all up.
I visited his grave outside Chicago several years ago. It was a somber moment for me. His life mattered... but it didn't to his murderers.
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
And we're watching a country, a government and a disgustingly high number of supportive citizens work hard to remove history to act like things like this never happened. Shame on you, America.
That's why we say Black Lives Matter. That's why we fight with everything we have against racism - blatant, overt, covert and systemic.
Happy Birthday, Emmett Till... happy birthday.

  • He crawled through minefields. Destroyed enemy bunkers alone. Watched almost every man in his platoon die around him. And when it was over, they gave him a medal — just not the one he earned.
Vernon Baker was one of over a million Black Americans who served in World War II. He fought at Castle Aghinolfi, Italy, in 1945, leading a assault so dangerous that of the 25 men who went in with him, nearly all were killed or wounded. Baker kept going — taking out machine gun nests and watchtowers by himself until the mission was done.
For that, he received the Distinguished Service Cross. Not the Medal of Honor. Because in 1945, the U.S. military simply did not give that medal to Black soldiers. Not one. Out of over a million who served.
It took until 1993 for the Army to even investigate why. A team of historians spent years combing through records. Their conclusion: seven Black WWII soldiers had earned the nation's highest honor and were denied it — not for lack of courage, but because of the color of their skin.
In 1997, President Clinton finally corrected it. Seven men were awarded the Medal of Honor for actions from over 50 years earlier. Six of them were already dead. Vernon Baker was the only one alive to hear his name called.
He stood there and said: "To those that are not here with me... thank you, fellas. Well done. And I will always remember you."
Fifty-three years is a long time to wait for the truth.
What does it say about a country that a soldier can bleed for it — and still have to wait a lifetime just to be believed?

  • An off grid pv inverter is a power conversion device used in renewable energy systems that operate independently of the utility grid. These systems typically rely on solar panels, wind turbines, or other sources to generate electricity. The off grid solar inverter converts the direct current (DC) power from these sources, or from battery storage, into alternating current (AC) power that can be used by standard household appliances and electronic devices. https://www.inverter.com/off-grid-inverter

We stock two versions of off grid solar power inverters to complete your PV project. One version is a multi-function inverter charger from 700 watts to 6000 watts, 12V/ 24V/ 48V DC input to 120V/ 220V/ 230V AC output, combining functions of inverter, and battery charger to offer uninterruptible power support with portable size. Another version is three phase pure sine wave inverter with high power from 8kW to 200kW, no battery storage design, smart LCD display setting, and powerful protection functions. View competitive prices of our off grid inverters online and start your ordering in Home Power Inverter. This type of solar inverter is designed for standalone power systems that provide energy to remote locations, such as cabins and rural areas, where access to the main power grid is limited or unavailable.

  • Kendall Tolbert, 17, Queen Creek, Arizona
There are places in this country where a child going missing is not a shock anymore — where the pattern is so established that the state legislature had to act. Queen Creek is one of those places. Kendall is 17 years old and she needs every member of the MCA Virtual Search Party™ moving right now.
    Kendall Tolbert
    Physical description: Female.
Kendall was last seen on July 19, 2026.
    🔴 DANGER LEVEL: 8/10 — CRITICAL
    🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥⬜⬜
Queen Creek's two residential youth campuses generated more than 600 missing person reports between January 2022 and September 2025 — averaging more than one child going missing every two and a half days, according to ABC15 (July 15, 2026). Arizona DCS data shows 74% of missing foster youth disappear from group homes statewide. The Arizona State Senate passed legislation specifically because of Queen Creek's concentration of missing-from-care incidents. This is documented, LE-flagged, legislatively recognized ground zero — and Kendall has been here before.

⚠️ The Danger Level Gauge and any regional statistics or data included in this post are not claims about what happened to this child or what is currently happening to this child. Regional information — including trafficking statistics, law enforcement operations, and documented risk factors — reflects publicly available data about the area where this child disappeared. It is not a statement about this specific case. We are not saying this child was trafficked. We are not saying this child was abducted by a stranger. We don't know — and neither does anyone else until law enforcement finds answers. What we know is that the environment around a disappearance matters, and you deserve to see that information. • BUS DRIVER FIRED AFTER WAITING EVERY MORNING SO DISABLED RIDER COULD REACH THE BUS SAFELY Columbus, OH - A city bus driver has reportedly been fired after supervisors discovered he had been waiting an extra minute each morning so a disabled passenger using a wheelchair could safely make it down the ramp outside his apartment. In this satirical story, Marcus Reed, 48, noticed the passenger struggled to navigate the steep ramp leading from his building and was often only seconds away when the scheduled departure time arrived. Rather than pulling away, Marcus would wait, lower the accessibility ramp, greet the rider by name, and continue the route once everyone was safely aboard. Regular passengers reportedly never complained, with many saying they’d rather arrive a minute late than watch someone be left behind. Transit managers allegedly reviewed GPS data showing repeated one-minute delays and concluded Marcus had violated the agency’s strict on-time performance policy. The suspension sparked outrage, with dozens of riders arriving at the next transit board meeting carrying handmade signs reading, “Schedules Matter. People Matter More.” Asked if he regretted waiting, Marcus simply replied, “The timetable can recover. Some people can’t.”

  • Jason Roger Pope, a 46-year-old DJ from South Carolina known as “DJ Kidd,” received a reduced prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple sex crimes involving minors. The case, which involved allegations that he exploited hundreds of underage Black girls, remained tied up in court for nearly four years before ending with a sentence that was significantly lighter than prosecutors had sought.

Pope pleaded guilty in August 2023 to 13 felony charges. The convictions included five counts of sex trafficking a minor, five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and three additional criminal sexual conduct charges.

Prosecutors said Pope prostituted and had sexual contact with 693 underage Black girls between 2017 and 2019. They also alleged that he knowingly infected at least one victim with HIV. Although prosecutors sought a harsher punishment, a judge suspended part of Pope’s 30-year sentence and ordered him to serve 19 years in prison.

In 2024, the court imposed several conditions for his eventual release. According to WBTW, he must register as a sex offender, remain under close supervision for at least five years, and have no contact with any of his victims. If he violates probation, he could be sent back to prison for an additional 10 years.

  • Sushi can lead to serious complications - but such cases are extremely rare. Infections caused by bacteria such as Salmonella can indeed occur after eating contaminated food, especially when it involves raw or undercooked dishes. However, it is important to understand the actual level of risk: in the vast majority of cases, these infections resolve on their own and do not cause severe complications. What medicine knows: - Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, and dehydration - in most people, the illness resolves within a few days even without specific treatment - only in rare cases does the infection become severe enough to require hospitalization - people with weakened immune systems, older adults, and young children are at the highest risk In the case described: - the patient spent an extended period in the intensive care unit because of a severe infection - a few days later, they developed facial nerve paralysis, known as Bell’s palsy - this condition is associated with inflammation of the facial nerve and can sometimes occur after infections or immune system reactions But it is important not to exaggerate: - a direct cause-and-effect relationship between Salmonella infection and Bell’s palsy is not considered typical and is not a generally accepted mechanism - this is a very rare complication, not a common consequence of foodborne illness - the overwhelming majority of infections do not lead to neurological disorders A practical takeaway: - the risk exists, but it remains low when proper food hygiene practices are followed and food is obtained from reliable sources - the best prevention is fresh ingredients, proper food storage, and choosing reputable restaurants - there is no reason to panic because of isolated cases, but food safety should never be ignored 📚 Scientific references: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Salmonella and Foodborne Illness #sushi
