Neighbors, you can’t make this stuff up. An 84-year-old Florida man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to set his ex-girlfriend on fire after their 42-year relationship ended.

According to investigators, Franklin Davis and the woman got into an argument Friday while sitting in a parked vehicle at a 7-Eleven. Davis, who had been drinking, allegedly pulled out a bottle filled with gasoline, poured it onto the dashboard and front seats, and then set the car on fire while they were both still inside.

The woman said she believed Davis was trying to “burn her up” before she managed to escape. She suffered third-degree burns to her left leg, while Davis suffered burns to his hands and face. Both were treated at local hospitals.

Authorities released photos on Thursday of two suspects wanted for a violent assault on a 73-year-old man who was defending a pregnant woman while aboard an Upper West Side MTA bus earlier this month.
The incident took place on Friday, June 5, at approximately 6:30 p.m. According to police, the victim was riding an M104 bus near Broadway and West 92nd Street when he noticed the suspects harassing a pregnant woman about her carriage blocking the path on the bus.
The two suspects then engaged him in a verbal altercation and the confrontation rapidly escalated as the suspects began punching the victim repeatedly across his head and body. During the assault, one of the suspects brandished a knife and stabbed the man in his left shoulder, police said.
Both suspects fled the bus on foot to an unknown location. EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
