Neighbors, attorney Ben Crump is raising questions surrounding the death of Nolan Wells. __________________ If you recall, Nolan, the 18-year-old student-athlete from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, died after he disappeared during a Fourth of July boating trip to Horn Island. His body was recovered on July 6. __________________ The family’s lawyer, Ben Crump, is now telling Don Lemon that Nolan’s parents were asked to turn over his cell phone to law enforcement, but called the situation “troubling,” adding, “They’re saying messages were deleted from his cell phone.” __________________ According to reports, three young men who returned from Horn Island had Wells’ cellphone and later returned it to his parents. __________________ In a separate interview, Crump questioned the investigation after reports that law enforcement has not yet found evidence of foul play, pointing to “contradictions” in witness accounts and a video that appears to show an altercation took place the night Nolan disappeared. __________________ Crump also said the family has concerns about the investigation being handled by Mississippi authorities, pointing out that Nolan was the only Black teen in a group of white teens who could potentially have “culpability.” __________________ Crump and Nolan’s family are expected to hold a press conference tomorrow to call for a full and transparent investigation. Stewart claims the host began asking questions before abruptly rejecting her reservation. —— Afterward, she says she took a closer look at the listing and noticed it described the area as a “peaceful white neighborhood” with “no neighbors around.” Stewart has since filed a federal lawsuit against the host and Airbnb alleging racial discrimination. She claims the platform failed to act quickly after she reported the listing. —- Her attorney argues the wording used in the listing, along with the alleged rejection of her booking, raises serious concerns about discriminatory housing practices. The lawsuit also claims Airbnb allowed the listing to remain active for months after being notified of the alleged issue. —— Airbnb has since responded, stating that discrimination has no place on its platform and confirming that the host has been permanently removed.
