Following his arrest, Dale Sanders released a video urging supporters to pray for his "enemy," citing Matthew 5:44 and expressing confidence that God would "deal with them." However, a federal jury views it differently, convicting him on 25 counts of fraud this week. On July 20, U.S. Attorney David I.Courcelle announced Sanders' conviction in a press release. The release stated that Sanders defrauded two churches "in order to obtain money and property by means of materially false and fraudulent pretenses, representations and promises" and that the "money was used to fund his personal expenditures, to include gambling, dining, and living expenses." #church
